Europäische Kommission fördert großes Open-Access-Projekt CRAFT-OA unter Beteiligung der TIB
Im Rahmen der Rahmenprogramms HORIZON Europe fördert die Europäische Kommission für drei Jahre ein Projekt zur Stärkung der Landschaft institutionellen Publizierens. In diesem Feld liegt ein besonderer Schwerpunkt auf dem so genannten “Diamond Open Access”, dem Open-Access-Publizieren ohne Zahlungen durch Leser*innen oder Autor*innen. Die TIB ist eine der beteiligten Organisationen und knüpft mit diesem Projekt an einige ihrer aktuellen Schwerpunkte im Open-Access-Bereich an.

European Commission to fund large open-access project CRAFT-OA with participation of TIB
As part of the HORIZON Europe framework programme, the European Commission will fund a project of 23 partners to strengthen the landscape of institutional publishing for three years from January 1st. Within this field, there is a special focus on so-called “Diamond Open Access”, open access publishing without payments by readers or authors. The TIB is one of the participating organisations and ties this in with some of its current focal points in the open access field.

At TIB, we use the open source research information system VIVO for research profiles. We have extended it with the feature to add Mastodon IDs and thus verify their Mastodon profiles.

More Reliable – More Flexible – More Attractive: Update on the Development of the AV-Portal
The TIB video portal currently has almost 40,000 scientific videos from all disciplines and 700,000 visits per year. This blog post presents current further developments in 2022. These include easier findability of videos, an improved upload form and subtitling of videos.

Weil Forschung ressourcenintensiv ist, sollte allen Beteiligten viel daran gelegen sein, wissenschaftliche Publikationen leicht auffindbar zu machen und die Verbindungen zwischen verschiedenen Arbeiten sichtbar zu machen. Dabei stellen Metadaten, mit denen Forschungsoutput beschrieben wird, eine wesentliche Voraussetzung dar, um die Findbarkeit zu ermöglichen und Verknüpfungen aufzudecken.
