Publikationslisten sind ein integraler Bestandteil der Biografie von Wissenschaftlern. Aber was ist besser als persönliche Webseiten oder arbeitgeberbezogene Listen? ORCID bietet eine Lösung für Publikationslisten und Lebensläufe an einem zentralen Ort, wobei der Forscher selbst die volle Kontrolle darüber hat, welche Informationen aufgenommen, angezeigt oder weitergegeben werden. Dies ist ein Zusatznutzen zur eindeutigen Identifizierung einer Person über einen Persistent Identifier.

Publication lists are an integral part of scientists‘ biographies. But what is better than personal websites or employer-based lists? ORCID provides a solution for publication lists and CVs in one central location, with the researcher themselves in full control of what information is included, displayed or shared. This is an added benefit to uniquely identifying a person via a Persistent Identifier.

The TIB is developing ConfIDent, a platform to provide sustainable information on scientific events as part of a DFG funded project. It is a service for researchers, universities, infrastructure institutions, and professional societies based on the FAIR principles. We launched ConfIDent last year, but since then the system has grown again and there is more to discover.

One of our main goals with ConfIDent is to build a registry of academic events without listing those that are predatory. This blog article describes the assessment workflow that is employed to achieve this and discusses its limitations.

An der TIB nutzen wir das Open-Source-Forschungsinformationssystem VIVO für Forschungsprofile. Wir haben es um die Möglichkeit erweitert, Mastodon-IDs zu ergänzen und somit ihre Mastodon-Profile zu verifizieren.

At TIB, we use the open source research information system VIVO for research profiles. We have extended it with the feature to add Mastodon IDs and thus verify their Mastodon profiles.
